Yeah right! The u.s. has pledged to give Haiti less money than most winners of the lottery receive.
I'd we willing to be the church is more likely to be the "greatest purveyor of charity" and that it would beat the united states of america by a long shot.
I'd cite the American people, not their government, as the "greatest purveyor[s] of charity."
I see no evidence of that.
On the contrary, I'd say that communities of poor people are the greatest purveyor[s] of charity.
Having lived in a few countries around the world, I've seen a lot of evidence for the American people's exceptionalism in volunteerism and genorosity. And
I'd go further to hail the much-maligned middle-class as "the greatest purveyor[s] of charity."
